Dr Mohammad Salamati is the Resources Efficiency Programme Lead at University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC). His involvement with the AFRC initiated in 2008 whilst completing an undergraduate degree in Product Design Engineering and continued whilst undertaking his Engineering Doctorate in Bioengineering and Medical Devices. Mohammad has extensive experience in advanced manufacturing technologies, materials science, product design and process engineering. Dr Salamati has held numerous roles across 30 projects working with multi-national commercial partners covering a wide range of sectors such as aerospace and medical engineering. In addition to the UK Fires project, he is currently the client relationship owner and technical lead for the Ultra High Bypass Ratio (UHBR) engine demonstrator team consisting of Senior Manufacturing Engineers and Research Engineers tasked to develop and refine manufacturing methods aligned to the production of specialised components for next generation aircraft engines.
